Self Review - Introduction
ICT offers rich opportunities to transform your school's performance and transform the learning experience for pupils and teachers.Strategic planning of ICT is essential if a school is to evaluate the impact of its investment in technology against student outcomes. The self-review framework [SRF] offered by Becta and its partners, including the SSAT, should help schools with this process by benchmarking their current uses of ICT for learning, teaching and management. The SRF also complements the work of Ofsted's self-evaluation framework and indeed, provides evidence to support its submission.
Schools that have successfully used the SRF have been able to shape a vision around the achievement of realistic goals and prioritise their action plans. Many have gone on to use the evidence from the SRF exercise to support accreditation for the prestigious ICT Mark.
A number of our Register schools have now been trained to provide specific support and advice to other schools on using the SRF and obtaining the ICT Mark national standard.
