The ICT Mark
Becta's ICT Mark is awarded to schools that are able to demonstrate a threshold level of ICT maturity and capability across the whole school, as defined by the self-review framework. Indeed, a recent analysis of Ofsted reports since March 2006 indicates that schools with the Mark are more likely to be rated as outstanding in each of the five categories.Increasingly, the ICT Mark is providing a gateway for schools wishing to join the ICT Register or seeking nomination for the ICT Excellence Awards
The accreditation process and selection of assessors is managed by Naace.
If you are already an ICT Marked school and would like to join the ICT Register, then visit the application pages to find out more.
Conversely, if your school is already on the Register, then the next steps are as follows ...
- Register on the self-review framework and identify your position [so ensure that the threshold level has been reached in every aspect];
- Provide a strand level commentary that shows review and reflection on practice by completing the Streamlined Commentary document;
- You may find it useful to use the SA Diagnostic Prompts document to help you check whether you are ready;
- Formally register for ICT Mark assessment using the registration page on the Becta website; click on 'Apply for ICT Mark' and then 'online application form'.
