Strength
Reporting and tracking of student progress is carried out using a user friendly, custom–built database which has been developed in-house. It allows teaching staff to access pupil data from any curriculum machine in the College. Data is used to set pupil targets, review progress, identify under- achievers and over-achievers and to produce termly reports for parents, which are printed centrally. The database was built and is maintained by the network manager, and is overseen by a senior manager.

- We have successfully migrated from a vendor platform to a generic MS Windows 2003/XP Pro network thus achieving enhanced value for money and independence from restrictive and expensive contracts and services.
- We have migrated from a poor performing and costly Broadband contract to a BECTA approved commercial provider achieving better QoS and value for money

Strength
As part of our Hands on Support commitment, alongside our current in-house ICT training programme we are developing considerable skills in the deployment of SmartBoards across the Secondary curriculum.

Strength
We have gone through a lengthy process of due diligence to select the technology with which to engage parents and which we can use to help staff fulfill their administrative roles on-line. The partial development of an in-house solution proved invaluable in helping us select a commercial product and it also helped us develop a keen ability to separate supplier "hype" from reality.
The initiative has required an inclusive approach and teachers, parents, school council and governors have been involved in the project.

Strength
We have recently been awarded the ICT Mark and have a wide experience in ICT development activities. Recently trained by Becta, we are able to support and advise schools in using the Self Review Framework to audit and develop their use of ICT across the school and that might also wish to pursue ICT Mark accreditation. We are one of 25 consultant schools on the ICT Register that have been trained in this type of support across all phases.
Service
Using a package specifically developed by Becta, we can support schools in using the Self Review Framework and help them with their application for the ICT Mark. We are also able to support schools with training and/or consultancy on areas of ICT development identified as needing action in the Self Review Framework.

Strength
We have installed an e-registration system using the college’s existing MIS and ‘lesson monitor’ to record and monitor attendance, punctuality and behaviour on both a class and a lesson by lesson basis. The data is immediately available to the college’s attendance officer and to Learning managers to follow up as necessary.
