Thomas Bennett Community College

School description:

Thomas Bennett Community College have been shortlisted for the BECTA ICT Excellence award in the 'Learning Experience' Secondary schools category in 2009.

We were designated a Sports College in 2003, and are now the Sports College for Crawley, managing a partnership of schools for sport in Crawley. The school has been awarded the School Achievement Award and the Sportsmark Award. We have also gained the prestigious Artsmark Gold Award - a fantastic achievement and just reward for the brilliant work in all areas of the arts in the college.

We have demonstrated a wide range of strategies across the curriculum when using ICT as a tool to motivate, enthuse and challenge students of all abilities.  This year we were also a pilot centre for the DIDA unit D205 'Computer Games Authoring' and successfully delivered this unit with a range of students from Year 11.

We want every one of our students to achieve their potential so we concentrate on the individual and set high expectations whilst also making sure that everyone has the right support structure in place for their needs.
