Colerne Primary School |
Colerne Primary School currently has 248 children, with access to large school grounds, exciting play equipment and the benefits of being situated in a rural area. The school is in easy reach of both Bath and Chippenham.
As a school, we aim to develop ICT in order to make our pupils' learning vibrant, creative and unique. For our staff, ICT is used to enhance teaching in all curriculum areas, whilst also ensuring that specific ICT skills are nurtured. The staff also utilize ICT for PPA, facilitating flexibility, efficiency and collaboration.
In recent years we have been visited by representatives from the DfES Innovation Unit, Becta, Wiltshire LEA and many other schools who have all been very impressed by our use of ICT across the school. As a result of our involvement with the ICT Register we have also been involved in the test bedding of a variety of software products. We have also become involved in two local learning networks, focused on the use of ICT to support teaching and learning.
We strongly believe in supporting colleagues and other schools. We regularly receive visits from colleagues within our LEA, with some travelling from other areas nationally.
Our ICT provision is extensive, with an ICT suite, interactive whiteboards in all our classes, wireless networking, video conferencing capability, wireless laptops for pupil use plus various other peripheral devices to support learning.
