St John’s CE (VA) Primary School is an average sized primary school with 215 pupils in the village of Clifton, in the suburbs of Brighouse. The percentage of pupils known to be eligible for free school meals and those with SEN are both well below the national average. The percentage of pupils with statement of SEN is 3.7% which is above the national average of approximately 1.6%.

St John’s fosters academic and personal development in a caring and challenging environment, so that each individual can achieve his or her full potential. As a church school, Christian values of loving God and one’s neighbour are reflected both in worship and the daily life of the school.

The school hosts SLICT training. The school has also held the NAACEmark since July 2003 and has recently been awarded the ICT Mark.
